What is T.O.A.D.S?

An investigation by Jamie Ayling

I’ve always said that I have a perfect moral compass. I couldn’t imagine anybody more moral than me. It’s obvious to me what’s right and wrong and none of my belief systems contradict each other. I know there’s no such thing as a ghost. Bigfoot is too big to be real. Gnome is too small to be real. The reason I’m explaining this to you is that when you have belief systems as sound as mine, they are rarely challenged. A group called T.O.A.D.S made me challenge some of these belief systems, making me question the honesty of an institution I had trusted since I was a newborn baby - The Olympic Games.

I was made aware of this group about two months ago when my colleague Walter Phurnse emailed me a link to a Facebook group called ‘T.O.A.D.S’. Don’t try to find it - it’s been taken down. These people believe the Olympic Games that occur every four years, that are televised worldwide, are staged. ‘T.O.A.D.S’ stands for The Olympics Are a Deception and Scam. T.O.A.D.S has hundreds of supporters across the USA and Europe. I’ve spoken at length to the husband and wife team who started this campaign, Helen and Steve Roaberts, about their efforts to alert the public to what they call

a worldwide financial scam.

Steve Roabertes: They’re not athletes, they’re actors.
Helen Roabertes: We’ve picketed outside every Olympics Games event since the early 2000’s spreading our message, and we have no plans to stop any time soon.
Jamie Ayling: How did this all start?
Steve Roabertes: Well, it was after our trip to Sydney, Australia about well, 19 years ago now for the 2000 Olympics Games. We were back home in the US after our trip and we went to see the new Charlie’s Angels movie at the cinema and noticed a lot of the extras looked suspiciously similar to the “athletes” we had just seen competing in the Olympics Games a couple of months prior. We went home and immediately created the TOADS campaign.
Jamie Ayling: You don’t think that could’ve just been a coincidence?

Steve Roabertes: No
Jamie Ayling: Oh ok.
Helen Roabertes: Where is the water I asked for?
Jamie Ayling: It’s coming. Which sports in the Olympic Games are fake and which are real?
Helen Roabertes: Every winner and loser is decided before-hand. It’s all just a show. The sports are all set-

ups except for one. Pole vaulting. You can’t fake that.

Steve Roabertes: They are amazing athletes, the pole vaulters.

Helen Roabertes: Yes.

Jamie Ayling: Where can the Hollywood Hogs audience find you?Helen Roabertes: Our Facebook page was taken down by the powers that be. But we created a Twitter page recently. @TOADScampaign

Jamie Ayling: Thank you very much for taking the time to speak with me.
